Which account transactions can I transfer to BBVA?

We help you transfer recurring payments to your account (e.g. standing orders and direct debits). If you receive regular payments (such as a salary), we will help you inform the payer (e.g. your employer).

Can I transfer my balance to BBVA and close my original account?

Yes, you can transfer your balance, and also decide whether or not to close your original account.

Am I obligated to transfer all account transactions?

No, you decide which transactions you want to switch to your other account, and we take care of everything else.

What are the costs associated with the account switching service?

The transfer will be carried out within 12 working days of BBVA receiving your request and will be effective from the 13th working day.

Can my previous bank refuse to close my account?

Yes, if there are still outstanding obligations, the bank can refuse closure. In this case, the bank must inform you immediately.

I have a joint account with another bank. Can I request the BBVA account switching service?

In the case of a joint account, portability is not possible. Because the account ownership does not match, the original bank will reject the transfer request. If the original account is a joint account, the new account must also be held jointly by the same people.
