On December 3 in Milan, BBVA introduced an innovative concept that redefines digital interaction: a special BBVA app that is directly embedded in OpenAI's chat assistant. This will allow people in Germany and Italy to discover BBVA's products and services in a completely new, intuitive way, through simple questions in natural language.

What the App can do
The first version will answer questions about account terms, cards, or savings products. Over time it is supposed to develop into a digital companion that provides understandable guidance and simplifies complex decisions. The goal is to make access to financial information as easy as a conversation.
According to Murat Kalkan, Global Head of Digital Banks at BBVA, the integration of BBVA into ChatGPT marks the beginning of a new chapter in which AI enriches everyday life and helps customers manage their finances more naturally and intelligently.

Strategic partnership with OpenAI
This project is part of a collaboration with OpenAI. BBVA is among the first banks worldwide to develop an app for ChatGPT. At the same time, the bank is investing in AI internally: Over 11,000 employees already use ChatGPT Enterprise to boost productivity and innovation.
What's next?
The final version of the App will be available in the OpenAI App Store as soon as it launches in Europe. OpenAI is planning the launch for later this year and will announce further details on the submission process. With this step, BBVA Germany and BBVA Italy are positioning themselves at the forefront of digital innovation and demonstrating how easy it can be to access products and services.
