BBVA and Chubb are bringing a new digital travel insurance policy to Germany

BBVA Germany is expanding its digital offering and launching a new completely digital travel insurance with the insurer Chubb

The travel insurance is now available for BBVA customers in Germany and can be purchased directly via the BBVA App.

The new offering combines comprehensive insurance coverage with intelligent financial features and additional benefits – all seamlessly integrated into BBVA's digital banking experience.

The new travel insurance was specifically developed to meet the needs of modern travelers who value flexibility, simplicity and transparency. Customers can choose between two plans – Standard and Premium – and customize their insurance coverage individually, regardless of whether they are traveling alone, as a couple, or with their family.

The entire process, from generating the offer to finalizing the contract, is completely digital and directly integrated into BBVA's banking ecosystem.

The digital travel insurance offers protection against unforeseen events and can be selected according to your needs:

• Standard plan: Protection for medical expenses and repatriation, travel delays and interruptions, as well as for baggage and personal belongings.
• Premium plan: Includes all the services of the standard plan as well as travel cancellation insurance. The premium plan can be purchased up to seven days before departure.

As an additional benefit, BBVA customers who take out travel insurance receive 5% Cashback on purchases they make during their trip with the BBVA debit card. The cashback applies up to a spending limit of €300, which is equivalent to a maximum cashback of €15 per trip.

Furthermore, all BBVA customers pay no foreign currency fee when paying by card in non-euro currencies.

Chubb also emphasizes the added value of their collaboration.

Digital travel insurance is now available for all BBVA customers in Germany aged 18 to 74. The costs are variable and depend on the chosen plan, the destination, the duration of the trip and the number of insured persons. The final price is clearly displayed throughout the booking process.
