Long-term interest rates

For the first 6 months after you have opened your account, the gross interest rate is 3% p.a. After these first 6 months, the current account balance will earn interest at a rate equal to 25% of the ECB deposit facility rate. The interest rate is adjusted quarterly. The calculation is based on the interest rate for the ECB deposit facility, which is determined on the day before the new quarter. The interest rate based on this applies to the following quarter.
Example: Assume that the ECB's (European Central Bank) current interest rate is 2.00% p.a. After the first 6 months, the balance on the current account would be increased by 25% of this, i.e. 0.50% p.a.
