Your benefits with the BBVA debit card, even when you register it with an external payment service
If you register your BBVA debit card with an external payment service such as PayPal, the benefits of your card will still apply. This includes the BBVA cashback programs that are currently valid and the option to finance payments retroactively via Pay&Plan.
3% cashback on your purchases
If you pay with your BBVA debit card, whether in stores, online shops or via an external payment service, you will receive 3% cashback on purchases (up to €350 per month) within the first 6 months after opening your BBVA current account. The cashback will be credited directly to your current account on a monthly basis.
10% extra cashback for new customers: Only until April 7, 2026
- Participation: Open a BBVA current account during the promotion period. Extra cashback can be received once during the first month, starting from the first time that you use your card.
- Benefit: 10% cashback on purchases up to €500 (max. €50 extra cashback).
Pay in installments with Pay&Plan
Using Pay&Plan in the BBVA App, purchases made with your BBVA debit card can be retroactively divided into monthly installments.
Unlike traditional “buy now, pay later” offers, with BBVA's Pay&Plan, you initially pay for your purchase yourself. Then you can decide on installment payments later on if you want more financial flexibility.
For example, let's say you have just booked a trip or bought a new laptop and paid for it immediately to get the best price. Two months later, you realize that you have other purchases coming up. With Pay&Plan you can get the purchase price back and then pay in installments – entirely at your own pace and in a way that suits your financial plan.
Please note that the following rules apply to Pay&Plan:
- To use Pay&Plan, you must have a BBVA current account.
- You can convert payments into installments starting from a minimum amount of €50. You can also combine up to 5 purchases.
- Pay&Plan applies to purchases with the BBVA debit card at physical and digital retailers, including money spent on accommodation and meals.
- Installment payments are possible for purchases made during the last 90 days, provided that they appear marked as "Payable in installments" in your account transactions.
- Excluded are cash withdrawals, payments to banks or financial service providers, cryptocurrencies, and gambling/betting.
- The bank reserves the right to decide, at its sole discretion, whether it will offer you the option to pay in installments for a specific purchase made with Pay&Plan. They base this decision on your creditworthiness.
