Vishing

A conversation.

You receive a text message supposedly from your bank informing you of suspicious activity on your account.

The fraudster pretended to be a bank employee and persuaded the victim to disclose their debit card details. This information is then used to carry out fraudulent transactions in the victim's name.

If you receive a suspicious call, you should hang up and contact customer service directly at the bank using an official number that can be found on the website.

1. Banks never ask for your debit card details or other sensitive information in unsolicited phone calls. In addition, BBVA will never ask you for your security code, since this is dynamic and changes with every purchase you make.
