Protect yourself from online fraud by knowing what BBVA will never do
BBVA will never:
- Send a link via SMS.
- Call without warning: You will always receive a notification via the BBVA App in the “My Messages” section.
- Ask for your complete password, an SMS code or the PIN for your bank card.
Remember: If you receive a call without having first received a notification in “My Messages,” we ask that you not continue the conversation.
When you call BBVA:
- We never ask your for your full password. For identification purposes, only two random characters from your password will be requested. Don’t worry – this information will be deleted immediately after the conversation.
- You only need the SMS code if you contact us from a different phone number than the one you provided when you opened your account.
This is how you make your account even more secure
Security starts with you – and with a few simple measures you can reliably protect your access:
- Choose a strong password: 8–16 characters, a combination of letters and numbers.
- Keep your password secret: Don't share it with anyone – not even BBVA.
- Activate the biometric recognition: Use face recognition or a fingerprint to log in quickly and securely.
